Spring 2002 Mission

Do You Have A Mission?

Our very own group consisting of: Suzy D., Jean B., Pastor Miller, Nancy B., Sandy D., Estella G., Maryl M., Judy B., Barbara D. and Alicia W. had their very own Mission.

This May they worked at the United Methodist Mid-West Distribution Center in central Illinois. This center functions in cooperation with United Methodist Committee on Relief, Church world Services, and the American Red Cross. The Center ships health kits, school bags, school desks, dental and health supplies, and flood kits to different parts of the world and within the US. This year they sent food and warm clothing to Afghanistan.

Some of the kits that our group worked on were health kits, school bags, sewing kits, health kits and health supplies; as well as putting in some landscaping gravel.

Working hard together was only one of the activities. Shopping at the gift shop at the Center called 'Twice Giving Gifts" was hard work.
Of course great food preparation and eating plus tons of conversation were the high points of the day.
