WI Conference Mission Motivation Committee is collecting items for the Midwest Mission at Annual Conference. We are focusing on Personal Dignity Kits and Home Care Kits. All items should be NEW and have only the items requested in the kits listed below. Midwest Mission distributes these items locally, nationally, and internationally to those in need during times of crisis.
Please drop off items between May 1st and June 2nd by the OCCUMC Collection sign near the highboy by the Sanctuary entrance. OCCUMC is an Ingathering Drop Off Site, which means other churches will leave their donations by the coat rack.
Personal Dignity Kit (Value $15)
Hand towel (no kitchen towels)
Washcloth (no dishcloths)
Toothbrush (no multipacks)
Bar soap: 3-4 oz.
Shampoo: 12-19 oz.
Deodorant: 2-3 oz. (stick, roll-on, pump)
1 Gallon resealable plastic bag
Shipping Cost & Toothpaste/carry bag: $3.00
Home Care Kit (Value $20)
Liquid household cleaner: 56-80 oz. total
(no spray bottles)
Dish soap: 42-64 oz.
Liquid laundry detergent:
100-150 oz. total
Scrub brush (with or without handle)
5 Gallon round bucket with resealable lid
Shipping Cost: $1.50
Instead of shopping for the above kits, you may donate towards the value of a kit, &/or cover the shipping costs. You may include your donation with your weekly offering noting the amount for ‘Ingathering’ or donate online: ONLINE GIVING/Donate Now/Other and specify Ingathering

Sewing machines electric and treadles
(We can accept sewing machines that need a little tuning up, oiling, etc. but not computerized ones.)
Bicycles (adult in good condition with minimal rust)
Medical equipment such as folding walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, canes, knee scooters, shower chairs, hospital beds, walking boots, and slings. (no toilet risers please)
Blankets new or gently used, for disaster response
Non-electric tools specifically shovels, brooms, rakes
Oak Creek Community United Methodist Church located at 8675 S. 13th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154 is hosting a rice meal pack Saturday, April 20th 4pm-6pm. These meals will help meet hunger needs and provide disaster relief. Come and join us! You can pack for 1 hour or 2. There are sitting and standing jobs available.

One bag feeds 5-6 people and only costs $2 to make. We are purchasing enough supplies to make 1,200 bags! We are asking for a donation of $25 per person to cover supplies. If you are not able to donate the full $25, any donation would be appreciated. If you are only able to donate your time, we look forward to seeing you!

The Food Bank Challenge starts February 14th and goes until Easter Sunday.
Going to Pieces is putting up $500 and United Women in Faith is putting up $300 to start the challenge.

The next Blood Drive is March 6th from 2:00 - 6:30 pm. There are 23 appointment slots for whole blood and 5 appointments available for double red blood cells.
Someone needs blood every 2 seconds. Donors are at The Heart of Our Community!

On Saturday March 16th from 9:00 am -1:00 pm, Going To Pieces will be participating in a craft fair at All Saints Lutheran Church, 9131 S. Howell Ave. in Oak Creek.
Join women from across the state for Sole Sisters, Walking with Jesus at Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center,. It will be a weekend of fun, relaxation, and learning. Each day features enriching workshop choices, devotions, nature walks and more. There’s no shortage of fellowship, good food, and time to relax in nature. The retreat includes 2 nights lodging, 5 meals, 3 workshops, and all necessary materials.
